As a member of the Main Street Advisory Board for many years, one of the things we have often discussed is the fact that Sherman, Texas was lacking a "Main Street." While Travis Street has always been thought of as Main Street, we wanted to find a way to make this a reality.  After many discussions of the logistics of changing street names and the chaos that would follow, we found a way to make it happen and last week, the first Main Street sign was put in place!

More signs will soon start to show up as the City has designated the portion of Travis Street between the Sherman Public Library and the Central Fire Station as our honorary Main Street. The street will officially remain Travis, so no mailing addresses will change!
